Clinical Supervision

Clinical Supervision

Emma is a clinically endorsed psychologist and AHPRA Board Approved Supervisor. She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Through her qualifications, experience and extensive tranining, Emma is able to provide Clinical Supervision for students, early career practitioners, and peers across the psychological profession.

Emma is currently working in private practice via telehealth Australia-wide, and in clinics face-to-face in Adelaide, South Australia.

As a part of her practice, Emma provides ongoing or ad-hoc supervision to psychologists in the areas of adolescent therapy, attachment theory in practice, parenting capacity assessments, child protection matters, and providing expert witness testimony.

    Experience

Emma has previously held senior and principal roles within the Government, Not-For-Profit and Education sectors.

Throughout her work within the South Australian government, Emma held Senior Clinical Psychologist and Acting Principal Clinical Psychologist positions, supervising staff and students in their work.

More recently, Emma’s personal life lead her to Brisbane, where she worked with young people and adults at the University of Queensland. She provided psychological therapy to students of the university, and primary supervision of Masters of Psychology (Clinical) students completing their placements within the on-site therapy team.

        Approach to Supervision

Having benefited from supportive and encouraging supervisors early in her own training, Emma is especially passionate about providing the same kind of supervision to early career psychologists.

Emma’s approach is centred around building a safe supervisory relationship where the supervisee can feel comfortable to share their successes and challenges openly, in order to grow and develop their skills and confidence.

Emma recognises the toll that practising in this field can have, as well as the unique rewards that come with supporting a person’s psychological wellbeing. With this in mind, supervision can include developing practices that allow a balance of positive wellbeing, and a sense of purpose and fulfillment, that also supports career longevity.

            Availability

Emma currently has availability for Clinical Supervision, with flexible hours that can be negotiated around her existing clients and assessment work.

Emma is a firm believer in the idea that psychologists of all ages and experience levels can benefit from Supervision, and feedback, and is active in ensuring her own own clinical work is supported through supervision and reflective practice principles for ongoing professional development.
