Therapy
Therapy
Through her previous work within private practice, school and tertiary education settings, and within government agencies, Emma has worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adults – providing high quality psychological support and therapeutic services.
I am a warm, empathic person, and am genuinely interested in hearing about people’s life experiences and what lead them to the therapy space. Above all else, it is my priority to help people feel comfortable so that they can share their thoughts and feelings in a way that feels safe.
In therapy I meet clients where they are at in their life, and help them move towards where they want to be. I understand that it can be very difficult to ask for help and to talk about the tough stuff, and that’s why I focus on making the experience as easeful and inviting as possible.
Emma is able to offer:
In person or telehealth sessions for your convenience
Access to the highest possible rebate from Medicare
Acceptance of clients seeking to access services under Mental Health Treatment Plans (developed in consultation with a GP) and Private Health Care.
Note: Currently Unable to Accept New Clients
Due to strong recent demand for therapy services, unfortunately Emma is currently unable to accept new therapy clients.

Specialist Therapy: Adolescents and Young Adults
Emma specialises in the psychological treatment of adolescents and young adults (13-30), but has extensive experience with both older adults and younger children.
How does therapy work?
Emma primarily utilises a relational approach underpinned by an attachment-based framework, and specific therapy modalities include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), self-compassion and mindfulness.
Importantly, Emma tailors psychological treatment to each person’s individual needs and preferences, and focusses on making therapy a comfortable and safe place.
How do I know if therapy will help, or if I might need to speak with a psychologist?
In many cases, engaging with a psychologist is a healthy and pro-active step.
Emma works with people experiencing a range of difficulties including:
- Anxiety
- Worry
- Adjusting to life changes
- Stress management
- Grief and loss
- Managing difficulties in adolescence including friendships, relationships, worries about school and the future
- Low or depressed mood
- Parenting challenges including children’s behaviour support
- Short-term crisis or critical incident
- Difficulties in the workplace
If you are experiencing any of the above, speaking with a psychologist may help. In some cases, it may be helpful to meet regularly, while in others, therapy may assist in a more acute and non-ongoing basis.
Ultimately, the best place to begin is with a conversation – and Emma is only too happy to discuss your needs and what you may expect from therapy sessions.
Mental Health Treatment Plans
Mental Health Treatment Plans are prepared in consultation with your GP and are intended to help individuals gain access to support and services for Mental Health and Wellbeing.
The first step is to make a ‘long’ appointment with your regular doctor, and to ask for a referral to a psychologist.
Comprehensive Support Services
Emma is passionate about providing accessible and comprehensive services for parents and families.
Emma began her practice with a view to help others, and to ensure that high-quality support services were obtainable without exorbitant costs and long wait times.
Psychological Assessment Services
Psychological Assessments are often the beginning of a bigger journey into happier and healther mental wellbeing.
While Emma offers some therapy services, she specialises primarily in psychological assessments – helping both adults and children to better understand themselves and their needs at school, at work or at home.
Emma’s work with clients in conducting assessments, along with her commitment to operating a holistic practice, often means that the two go hand-in-hand, with assessment helping to unpack the ‘why?’ and therapy becoming a key component of the ‘what next?’
Ultimately, Emma’s practice is about helping her clients to best understand themselves, helping them to access support, and empowering them to live happier, healthier lives.
